T. LYNN MCGEHEE
“It is not the place of the theatre to show the correct path, but only to offer the means by which all possible paths may be examined.”
― Augusto Boal, Theatre of the Oppressed

McGehee has spent the last 17 years using theatre as a tool to teach and examine. She is a proud AmeriCorps alum, has served as an after-school drama specialist in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC, as a teaching artist for the Tony Award-Winning Regional Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and is the current Artistic Director of Meridian Little Theatre (MLT) in Meridian, MS.

Since her artistic leadership began in 2021, Meridian Little Theatre increased its membership revenue by 80%, tackled major capital improvements, increased volunteer participation both on and off the stage, and catapulted MLT into a regional resource for theatre artists and educators.
She received her MFA in Theatre Education from Mississippi University for Women and her Bachelor's in Theatre from the City College of New York.
In the past, she has planned and coordinated outreach and arts education efforts in Meridian, most notably the Any Given Child Initiative, a Kennedy Center program, that received the Mississippi Governor’s Award of Distinction in 2020, and the MSU Scholarship of Engagement award in 2021.

McGehee is a process theatre and experiential learning nerd. She believes theatre is a tool, a vehicle, a door, a window, and an invitation. Her wish is to guide people to think deeper for themselves and to use theatre as a tool for introspection, reconciliation, rumination, and growth. She spends her nights rehearsing and her days playing pretend with her 6 and 8-year-old sons, kibitzing with her clergy spouse, who happens to be one of Meridian's Top 20 Under 40, and dreaming over hot tea or coffee and fresh-baked treats with fellow thinkers.
